Welcome to our whistleblowing page!

Open Communication & Transparency Page

How can we demonstrate that you matter to us?

How can we make your workplace a safer, more comfortable space?

What’s on your mind?

At eye square we place the highest value on a fair, safe, and transparent working and business environment. The German Whistleblower Protection Act (Hinweisgeberschutzgesetz – HinSchG) supports us in upholding and strengthening this commitment. It protects individuals who obtain information about violations in connection with their professional activities and report them.

We’ve created this internal page so we can continuously improve the workplace, our practices and policies, along with improving staff morale and productivity, and overall, to make sure that you always feel welcome. We want to make sure every topic or issue is given the proper space to be expressed, so we wanted to make sure every single member of our team could anonymously talk to us about any topic. From serious discrimination to even ideas you’ve had in your mind that you might be hesitant to talk about, our doors are open to you.

We want to encourage everyone – our employees, as well as customers, suppliers, test subjects, and other business partners – to make us aware of potential misconduct or breaches of rules. Your reports help us to identify risks at an early stage, take countermeasures, and continuously improve our processes.

How does reporting work?

What can be reported?

What happens after you submit a report?

Responsible Contacts:

Your report will primarily be handled by our internal reporting officer and, if applicable, our Data Protection Officer, Thomas Barbaro. They ensure that your concern is treated professionally and confidentially. Internally the people responsible are Dr. Friedrich Jacobi, Philipp Reiter and Carina Lehne de López.

Alternative Reporting Channels

Data Protection

All personal data processed within the scope of the whistleblower system are subject to the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).

We are convinced that an open communication culture and the ability to report misconduct securely are crucial for the success and integrity of eye square.

Alternative Actions

On the off chance that a retaliation occurs (because this can happen), and you want to take further steps, if you feel unsatisfied by the actions taken by eye square, if you feel unsatisfied by the outcome or anything else please find further official information here.

It is completely understandable that despite all the precautions we take, you might still feel uncomfortable in exposing someone or something. Additionally there might be a situation that the lightcaster/whistleblower should be known, there might be a case that disclose identity for required purposes is needed at least to one person responsible, because of certain actions that need to be taken. There incidents that  are crimes and we (eye square) are obligated to report those to the proper authorities. Hence we would like to offer you the option of Thomas Barbaro as a confidential back channel. He could provide further confidentiality and more detailed legal and objective advice.

The right to your anonymity remains unconditionally intact despite the fact that in some cases it might create obstacles that might not be easy to overcome.

There is also an alternative way to report an incident that we would like you to know. Find all the information here.
