In October, CEO Michael Schießl and Director China Weimei Jiang embarked on a trip to China with the aim of deepening our existing relationships with Tencent, the significant Chinese multinational technology and entertainment company.
Additionally, we also participated in the AUSTRIA CONNECT event, the largest networking event and flagship conference for the Sino-Austrian business community. This year’s conference theme, “Shifting Tides – Dealing with the New Era of Business in China,” represents a new phase that China has entered in the first year after COVID. Together with Rainer Burkardt, Head of Practice at Burkardt & Partner, and TAO Mengying, Senior Consultant at Sinolytics, eye square CEO Michael Schießl took part in a panel discussion on the new era of data in China.

The Austria Connect China event in Chengdu provided us with numerous opportunities for learning, networking, and discussions on economic backgrounds, as well as an exceptional cultural exploration program. As the sun set, we embarked on a delightful boat trip on the JINJANG River, immersing ourselves in the beauty of the surroundings. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the grand gala dinner themed “A Night in Chengdu,” which left us in awe.
The next day, we embarked on an exciting excursion to the DUJIANGYAN PANDA BASE, where we had the privilege of observing these magnificent animals up close. The visit to the DUJIANGYAN IRRIGATION SYSTEM, a UNESCO World Heritage site, also impressed us. This ingenious water engineering marvel showcases human ingenuity at its finest.
